DRUG-FREE WORKPLACE
PROGRAM FOR YOUR BUSINESS
Let NTP Consultants help
you establish & maintain a drug-free workplace. We will assist you
with expressing your company’s planned response to the possession
or use or abuse of illegal and controlled substances. We will make
sure you are compliant with terms and conditions of the Drug Free
Workplace Act and other federal and state mandates. With NTP
Consultants your company will become a safe and healthy work
environment by keeping drugs and their effects out of the
workforce. Your company’s productivity/performance can increase
while you fulfill your social responsibility to employees,
customers and the community. Even if you already have a drug-free
workplace program, consulting with NTP Consultants can reaffirm
your company’s commitment to assist employees who seek help to
overcome chemical dependency; which is always in the best interest
of the employee and the company. We will do this by:
Reviewing/revising your current drug-free
workplace policy, or creating a new one. |
Helping you decide which
manager/department will operate/enforce your program. |
Helping you determine what kind of drug
testing (if any) are mandated by law or are most desirable in view
of your company’s objectives…and which employees will be covered and
under what circumstances. |
Helping you select a qualified testing
facility/collection site, method of testing and explain the
different types of testing, as follows:
Pre-employment |
Reasonable Suspicion |
Post accident |
Random |
Follow up |
Providing the documents/forms you will
need to utilize to implement the program. |
Determining what form of employee
assistance will be available to those that self-refer and those that
are intercepted. |
Advising managers and supervisors to
become pro-active in implementing the program. See our
training programs. |
Helping you establish a system to
monitor the program and assure confidentiality of all records and
test results. |
NEED A
QUALIFIED “SAP” DUE TO A POSITIVE FEDERALLY MANDATED TEST?
NTP Consultants
has been providing SAP Services since they became defined by the
United States Department of Transportation in August 2001. You
will not find SAP services more qualified or organized in the
Tri-State Region. We provide quality evaluations for employees
who test positive under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety
Administration, Federal Aviation Administration and Federal
Railroad Administration Regulations. We provide prompt and
consistent communication with employers during the treatment
process.
For the employee,
we attempt to make referrals which will allow them to utilize
their insurance benefits. We attempt to locate a quality
treatment facility within close proximity to their residence.
Although the primary responsibility of an “SAP” is to maintain
public safety, NTP Consultants remains sensitive to the fact that
employees are often suspended from pay during this time. We
attempt to work with the treatment agencies to expedite treatment
services, keeping in mind that each individual has different
needs which may require longer or shorter periods of time in
treatment.
The fee for SAP
services is $450. This fee is often paid by the employee or in
many cases, the employer, who then “payroll deducts” a set
amount from future paychecks. This fee is required at the time
of the first appointment and will cover:
The initial face-to-face clinical
evaluation, including standardized testing. DOT regulations require a
recommendation for treatment and/or education in every case. The
SAP must send an initial evaluation report to the employer, which
includes a copy of the treatment plan. |
Assisting the employee with contacting
the treatment provider, and arranging for services. |
Maintaining regular contact with the
treatment provider, to monitor the employee’s treatment progress,
and to confirm suitability of the treatment plan. An additional
$100 fee will be charged for clients who are non-compliant with the
treatment plan. |
Conducting a face-to-face follow-up
clinical evaluation to determine if the employee has complied with
the recommendations of the treatment plan. Our agency then sends a
follow-up report to the employer, including our recommendations for
program of aftercare and follow-up testing. |
Two things which are not covered in the
$450 fee:
The cost of treatment if there is no
insurance or limited insurance benefits. |
Ongoing monitoring following the
employee’s return to work, including monthly in-person interviews
and revision of the employee’s follow-up testing program, when
appropriate. The SAP will also document monthly contact with the
provider of the client’s aftercare program. Reports of compliance
or non-compliance will be sent to the employer. This is a
service for which the employer usually pays for as it is optional
and NOT mandated by the Department of Transportation Regulations. The fee for this service is $35 per month which is billed to
the company. |
